Data Collected at Sign-Up, Verification and Play
Opening an account takes only an email address and a password, or a sign-in through Google, Microsoft, Apple or Telegram. More data is added as the account is used:
- contact data: name, mailing address, phone number, a recent utility bill;
- identity data: date of birth, ID or passport number, a photo;
- activity data: logins, bets, winnings, bonuses, deposits, withdrawals and conversations with support by email or live chat;
- technical data: IP address, GeoIP location, browser and device details;
- financial data: currency, payment details and source of funds.
LineUp may also check public sources such as company registers. Without the required data, some services cannot be provided.
Why Your Data Is Used and the Legal Grounds
Each type of data is used for a set purpose:
- Registering the account, confirming identity and blocking impersonation.
- Running casino games and sports betting and answering support requests.
- Watching deposits and withdrawals for fraud and money laundering.
- Responsible gaming support, including self-exclusion records.
- Newsletters and promotions, where the player agreed to them.
The legal grounds are the contract with the player, legitimate business interests, gambling licence requirements, anti-money laundering and KYC rules, responsible gaming rules and, for direct marketing, the player’s consent.
Marketing Emails and the Pre-Ticked Consent Box
The sign-up form has a second checkbox, “I agree to receive marketing promotions from Line Up”, and it is ticked by default. Untick it before pressing Sign Up if you do not want offers by email. Consent can be withdrawn later in the same way it was given. Player data is never passed to third parties for their own marketing without consent.
Automated Fraud Checks With a Human Decision
Some data goes through automated checks that build an account profile for anti-money laundering and fraud prevention, such as IP address and PEP checks. No decision is made by the system alone: the final call always rests with LineUp staff. After sign-up, an email with a confirmation button checks that the address belongs to you.
Data Recipients and Transfers Outside the EEA
Data can be shared with regulators, law enforcement, accounting and auditing firms, digital marketing providers, companies in the same group and service providers that keep the site running. All processors are bound by contract to the GDPR rules, including confidentiality. Data is stored and processed mainly in the European Economic Area. When a transfer outside the EEA is needed, standard contractual clauses protect it, and a copy of these safeguards is available on request.
Encryption and How Long Records Are Kept
Data travels over a TLS 1.2 connection and is stored on encrypted hard drives behind firewalls on certified servers. Records are kept only as long as needed for their purpose or as the law requires. Transaction data is kept for at least 5 years, and records needed to answer possible claims can be kept for the usual 5-year limitation period. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
Access, Correction, Erasure and Other Data Rights
Players can ask LineUp to:
- confirm what data it holds, why, who receives it and for how long;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- erase data that is no longer needed, unless the law requires keeping it;
- restrict processing while a dispute is checked;
- hand over data in a machine-readable format;
- stop using data for direct marketing.
Requests go to support@lineup.bet, and LineUp may confirm your identity before acting on them. Players can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority; LineUp asks to try solving the issue with support first.
